Iris 7: Iris Ghost

This is a variation of eccentric weft weave, here
in bands of triangles (woven sideways, from the left side). After all the green yarns in the previous six weavings, as the year closed in and darkened I felt a strong need for red. I finished this weaving on the Day of the Dead, November 1. The blossoms stand gaily bright, while the leaves are narrowed and sere, ghosts, or memories, of themselves.
