Weaving bands set at alternating angles to the vertical warps results in a very dense, long-wearing textile with the characteristic zig-zag pattern and scalloped edges of Navajo  wedgeweave. In the photo (right) the rug, together with the painting that inspired it, light up a dark hallway.
