Iris Ghost Iris 7: Iris Ghost

Wool warp, hand-dyed wool weft
16  by 21 inches

In a variation of eccentric weft weave (woven sideways, from the left side), I wove bands of triangles. After all the green in the previous six weavings, as the year closed in and darkened I felt a strong need for red. I finished this weaving on the Day of the Dead, November 1. The blossoms endure, if wispy, while the leaves are narrowed and sere, ghosts, or memories, of themselves.
